One night at Geylang~

Didn't know where did this came about..but after we attended a colleague's self-introductory presentation about his whereabouts, we decided to scrutinize the red light area of singapore for.......

one night at GeyLaNg~

on the backseat with jasz yo

Thanks to the driver who knew a lot of stuff about geylang..and of reference to ieat-ishoot-ipost, we had three choices initially, all located at the red wild streets or what they called as lorongs which were:

  • Frog leg porridge
  • 126 dimsum
  • kuay chap (pork's stuff)

Jeng jeng jeng...so we've come to a democratic decision of heading for the decided dish~ also..in concern of one party member which eventually had sore throat but still displayed a great image with food..

jalan jalan cari makan program mc : Hock (the green hulk)

WARGH *salivate

As i kept forgetting that they are Singaporeans..indeed they won't get stuff like sedap giler, sekaligus bayar, kantoi, mampus... but can't seem to get those out of my lines (shows that i'm truly a MALAYSIAN *winks..proud to be one~~~) and i'm eventually easily influenced into jialat, walao eh,  si mi tai chi(what's the big problem?).. well..things aren't that bad..they do try to blend some like trying to use zha dao in some circumstances, sadly...still not good at it!!!  while i'm trying to use word like fierce which means extremely hardworking against ppl who OT..whahahah..always me using on others, no one using it on me..so u would predict the outcome of my February appraisal results.................... *o*

shucks. back to food and geylang.

fried chee cheong fun

For me, i think the highlight of the day would be the fried chee cheong fun..taste damn kao MSG(Monosodium Glutamate)..but texture is wow wow~~ there's this fried tai chi(scallop) which taste pretty delicious and oily as well!!! the drinks are as you could see..as huge enough to quench your thirst for the MSG, oily food and as well as talking too much upfront :D

ohya~ 126 actually means wan dou sek (found food) at Block 126. We were lucky to have found the shop minutes after turning into the province, but got stuck finding car park as the night was drawing in, and people too as well into the busy streets. I was informatively told that this is one of the oldest part of singapore, of course, its proud central logistics with races of chinese and malays residing in the early years. It was a bit not so likely of Penang. (If i said it was LIKELY, might get some bruises and punches from my dearest Penangites acquaintances~) Again, i was informatively told again..by the one that knew Geylang well..that if you needed some extra services, it could be easily found on the even numbered streets, where as the odd numbered streets are usually 'clean'. Not so sure about this fact though, just simply quoting..

Okay..moving on.

Walked for 9 roads (hang kau tiu kai) to locate this soya bean shop. Can you believe it's a corner lot!!! and literally..it can survive such big production and sales by just selling soya bean... =.="" it's called YONG HE soya bean located at Lorong 9A..

then some guy..very proud ordered some special salty soya bean T_T for a change.

RoY : pointing to the special item on menu.
(the guy that always get crossed with the order taking aunty)
Chi Wai : the fierce guy (always OT)

Salty soya bean @.@ =.=" #.#.....

Aunty: Ni bu huey chi de la! Shi taiwan ren chai huey chi de~
(you don't know how to eat..only taiwanese does)
RoY: *insisting face
Aunty: *Sharp stare and left to place our orders

My one and only bean curd order on table~
and salty soya bean's fritters~

The taste of salty soya bean : YUCKS!!! Taste totally like very very salty porridge!!! Maybe it's better for breakfast..but not for dessert/supper.. i chose the default bean curd..texture okay, but no taste.. O.O.. still the ipoh bean curd is the best in the universe~~ Others ordered soya bean and went with fried fritters (yiu tiao or yao char kwai). In fact, i tried that some place else, and fritters really goes damn well with soya bean!!! Jasz was enthu about soyz, so eventually bought 6 packets home for her family~

Well, happy times ARE ALWAYS fast~ so that was that and everyone went back to home sweet home in the end..the gang picture got a bit blurred so dun intend to put it here..

in appreciation..
